Getting into Teaching

Saffron Walden County High has been accredited with Teaching School Hub status in this year and has been working closely with another Teaching School Hub (Chafford Hundred Teaching School Hub) and other local teacher training providers to recruit and support our partners to deliver high quality teacher training. This is important to us because it means we can choose the most talented and dedicated people and develop them as teachers within our schools to deliver the best outcomes for the students in our local area.

We have teacher training vacancies now to start training from September 2021, with a wide range of providers from accorss (Uttlesford, Braintree, Harlow, Chelmsford, Epping, Basildon, Brentwood, Southend – on – Sea and Thurrock) We would be very interested to hear from you if you are thinking of becoming a teacher or know someone who is.  We are looking for people who have a degree, a passion for education and teaching and want to inspire young people to fulfil their potential.

Please come along to find out more at an online ‘Getting into Teaching’ event on the 14th of December 4.00pm- 6.00pm. At this event you will hear from multiple teacher training providers and find out more about which training routes are right for you and how you go about applying. We are also very excited to have Cat Scutt speaking at this event. Cat is the Director of Education and Research from The Chartered College (the professional body for all teachers.) You will also get the opportunity to hear from recently qualified teachers who will share their experiences of teaching with you.

Please also look at the information on our HUB website on the Train to Teach section which explains the different routes, funding options and gives advice on how to apply to become a teacher. https://www.saffronteachingschoolhub.net/page/?title=Train+To+Teach&pid=36
